Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but ANYTIME you spill water on a notebook, there is going to be SOME damage -- the only issue is, how much!
You can work through the details in this thread to see if anything helps: You Just Spilled Water Or Coffee On Your Laptop - Here's What You Should Do
You should also try the steps in this thread to see if the hard drive has failed: Testing a Hard Disk from the BIOS | HP® Customer Support
If nothing there helps, your only recourse is to take the notebook to an HP Service Center where they can disassemble it, assess the damage, and see what is involved in repairing it. Here's information on the Service Centers: HP Notebook PCs - Using a Certified HP Service Center to Repair a Notebook PC | HP® Customer Support
Good Luck
