Twice in the last week, while is was working on the computer, it would freeze then go to a screen that says Boot Device Not Found - Please install an operating system on your hard disk. Hard Disk - (3FO) I was not given a DVD or startup Disk when I purchased the computer - everything was already built in. If you can't boot up the PC, how are you supposed to install anything? I have no idea what is going on. I ran a diagnostics, Memory passed, then Testing Drive 1 - says not available.(Diagnostics UEFI). So, I unplugged the PC and waited; then restarted it. After a while it booted up. I don't feel comfortable enough to say I am out of the woods, as this is the 2nd time it's happened since last week. How can this be fixed so it doesn't happen again? Should I just buy a new PC?

Do you buy a new car when you have a flat tire or an empty petrol tank?
If not, follow me:
When you run a PC in UEFI-Mode it will not detect any MBR-Drive and when you run in Legacy-Mode it will not detect any GPT-Drive. Usually this setting is very stable and it doesn't change. But with HP it is a different thing and in this forum you find many problems concerning the BIOS. On the download site you find AMD-drivers for Intel chipsets and a lot of nonsense.
In your case you should enter the BIOS (F10) during startup repeatedly and look for Boot options. Here you select Legacy.
Save the changes and exit.
To find out whether you have MBR or GPT you start the computer with a PE-Medium and run diskpart.

Hi,
Most likely it is a problem with the Hard Drive which can be replaced. You could even replace with an SSD which would give a boost to performance
Have you tried running diagnostics when the PC actually does continue booting into Windows
Turn off the PC by holding the power button until complete shutdown.
Turn on the PC and repeatedly press ESC until the startup menu appears.
Press F2 to enter diagnostics.
Try performing the fast system test and see if there are any failure ids.
What is the exact model number of your AIO

Let me know,

Hi,
What I would do (or have done) since most likely the Hard Drive is failing
Is replace the Hard Drive with a 2.5" SATA3 SSD of your preferred brand and capacity.
It will give a great boost to the everyday performance of the machine
Ex
On page 9 in the link below you can see the steps to install the SSD
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05158546.pdf
Next you can reinstall the OS on the new drive
Here is a small guide:
Download media creation tool from Microsoft on PC ( or different PC), run and create a bootable pendrive with the OS on it. (there is an explanation on the Microsoft web page on how to create the pendrive). Create the drive with Windows 10 Home 64-bit edition. Windows will automatically activate once installed and connected to the Internet.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
If you choose this option you will need to use the pendrive to perform a clean install of Windows 10. You might need to disable fastboot and secure boot in BIOS (probably not). So, insert the pendrive in the PC and it should boot directly from the drive. If not, turn off the PC by holding the power button. Press the power button and immediately keep pressing ESC until the startup menu appears and then press F9 and choose the pendrive in the boot menu. Once it boots from pendrive follow the procedure to install Windows.
When finished installing allow Windows to completely update and find all or most drivers. You can follow this process by going into settings > Security and update > click on Verify for updates. You might need to reboot a couple of times.
I recommend installing HP support assistant which will help keep your drivers up to date and much more. You can download the latest version from here.
https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html
Once completely updated you can go into device manager and see if there are any missing drivers (there will be yellow exclamation mark next to the device). You can find these drivers and software on HP support page for your product.
As I said above, it will feel like a new computer as the everyday performance will be much better.
Hope it helps,
David
