Hi @0979345445
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
The "Boot device not found" error typically indicates that your laptop is unable to locate the operating system or bootable drive.
Here are steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Step 1: Check Boot Order in BIOS
- Restart your laptop and press F10 repeatedly during startup to enter the BIOS menu.
- Navigate to the Boot Options or System Configuration section.
- Ensure the correct drive (HDD/SSD) is set as the first boot device.
- Save changes and exit BIOS.
Step 2: Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the laptop and disconnect all external devices.
- Remove the power cable and battery (if removable).
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cable and battery, then turn on the laptop.
Step 3: Run HP Diagnostics
- Restart the laptop and press Esc repeatedly during startup.
- Select System Diagnostics from the menu.
- Run a Hard Drive Test to check the health of your drive.
Step 4: Rebuild the Master Boot Record (MBR)
- Create a bootable Windows USB drive using the Media Creation Tool.
- Boot from the USB drive and select Repair your computer.
- Open Command Prompt and run the following commands:
- bootrec /fixmbr
- bootrec /fixboot
- bootrec /scanos
- bootrec /rebuildbcd
Step 5: Reinstall Windows
- If the above steps don’t work, use the bootable USB drive to reinstall Windows.
- During installation, ensure the correct drive is selected.
