Hi,

A power outage can sometimes interrupt a Windows update, firmware state, or boot process. The message “Secure Boot Violation – Invalid signature detected. Check Secure Boot Policy in Setup” means the system is blocking something in the boot path because it does not match the Secure Boot policy.

Please try this order:

  1. Turn the computer off.
  2. Disconnect all external devices:
    • USB drives
    • memory cards
    • external hard drives
    • printers
    • docks
  3. Disconnect the power cord.
  4. Hold the power button for 15–20 seconds.
  5. Reconnect power and try again.

If the same message appears:

  1. Turn the computer on and press Esc repeatedly.
  2. Press F10 to enter BIOS Setup.
  3. Load BIOS Setup Defaults.
  4. Save and exit.

Also check that OS Boot Manager is first in the boot order, not a USB device or network boot option.

If the system still shows the same message, go back into BIOS and look under Security / Secure Boot Configuration. If available, choose the option to restore or load the factory/default Secure Boot keys, then save and restart.

If Windows still does not start after restoring BIOS defaults / Secure Boot keys, boot into Windows Recovery and try Startup Repair:

Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair

Microsoft Startup Repair:

If there was a power interruption during an update, Windows may need startup repair. If the error continues even after BIOS defaults and Startup Repair, please post the exact HP model/product number and whether any USB drive or external boot device was connected when the outage happened.

I would not recommend leaving Secure Boot disabled permanently. It is better to restore the default Secure Boot configuration and repair the Windows boot path.
