HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg0000 (28Z28AV)

Hello,

My HP laptop, as above, has given very good service these past three and a half years but understanding and using this

extraordinarily complicated website has proven beyond me, if you will bear with me.

For many months I wanted and needed  a bootable USB to gain access to the laptop in the event of the (inevitable?) "crash".

I believe HP has, from past enquiries, a video (?) to help download instructions. Are you able to help, please?

Thank you so much, in anticipation

Hi:

If you are referring to making a USB recovery drive to factory reset the hard drive to its 'out of the box' condition, see this link for how to do that:

HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Support

You can download the software from the Microsoft Store:

Not sure just what you want but is this helpful:

Hello, Paul,

Thank you so much for your prompt and helpful reply.

I was thinking of something along the lines of, and simpler than, Hiren and Ventoy. But I'll certainly give your suggestion a try, although from past enquiries I believe that there might be a video on some HP website for downloading from HP itself; in effect, HP's version seemingly of the two afore-mentioned softwares.

Best wishes, and for Christmas and the New Year too.

You're very welcome.

HP used to have a download link for the cloud recovery tool, but they now supply it on the Microsoft Store's website.

I do have a zipped file copy of the HP cloud recovery tool file, but it is a few years old.

It probably still works though.

I've zipped it up and attached it below.

The only information HP supplies on the PC's support page is the same webpage I posted for you:

It is listed under the Software-HP Cloud Recovery (1) section on the webpage.

My best wishes to you as well for a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Hello, Paul,

Once again, thank you so much for your generous help.

I have been trying very hard to understand and use this

website but I "opened Pandora's box" when I bought this

laptop in '21. I'm having enormous difficulty logging on,

including being unable to register my mobile phone

number.

There's literally some problem at every single stage. For

a start, somehow I've ended up with TWO accounts, to

add to the confusion.

For further information, I have extant paid support for three months

for my latest, but still unused, laptop (unease about

setting up and programming the whole thing has so far

prevented this). If I can somehow contact HP Support,

perhaps via email. I might be able to go "back to basics" and start

all over again.

Whatever, I'll keep trying and will be in touch again.

Best regards.

You're very welcome.

The only way I know of to contact HP customer service is to begin at the link below.

Official HP® Support

HP does not publish any phone numbers due to the huge amount of scam sites purporting to be HP customer support.

Hello, Paul,

Thank you very much for your patience in the interim.

I've been repeatedly trying HP Support but without

success, I'll you bear with me again.

I was hoping to get someone there to phone me back,

one of the Options, but it's proving extraordinarily

difficult registering my mobile phone to enable this.

Yesterday I managed - somehow - to eventually do

so but then I was told the service was "temporarily

unavailable" at 1200 UK time. "Try later". I did at

18.15 (UK) receiving again the message.

I've been trying again this morning 1100 -1200 (UK).

Once again, severe difficulties having to RE-register

my so-called "unverified" mobile number, resulting in

"Too many attempts, try later".

In my three and a half years of broadband subscription,

I've never known a more discouragingly difficult company

to deal with. I now presume it does not wish to be of help.

Might you know of some other way of re-finding HP's 2024?

video (for Windows 11) showing its own equivalent of Ventoy

and Hiren's bootable USBs? I'm anxious to have the attendant

tools, not just be able to access the computer in the event of

a "crash". (And, or course, if I do eventually do get HP's video,

I'll have to be able to implement its download and installation

instructions, before I'm out of the wood.)

I look forward to your reply with great interest and thank you

in anticipation.

"Hercule Poirot"

(I'll use this nom de plume in future and drop "Carré", to end

the confusion of having ended up with two names.)

Hi:

Unfortunately, I don't have any other ideas for you to try and have provided the only information that I know about regarding the HP cloud recovery tool software.

Cheers,

Paul
