CPU stays 100% busy (Task Manager). Whatever all other tasks don't use, IntelPTTEKRecertification uses (up to 99%).
Windows 10 Home, Version 1803, OS build 17134.441
Intel(R)PTT EK Recertification Service, File version 1.42.682.1, Date Modified 5/23/2016 10:41 PM
After an unspecified time, the machine totally locks up. The only recovery is power off/wait/on.
Googled & hits on Intel sites all indicate the OEM needs to be contacted.

Welcome to HP forums, I see that CPU performance issue on your laptop.
Run a hardware diagnostics to check if there is any hardware issue.
-
Turn on the computer.
-
Immediately press the f2 key repeatedly, about once every second, until the UEFI menu opens.
-
When the UEFI menu opens, select the diagnostic test you want to run, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
Let me know how it goes.
To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.
Cheers.
