Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Will 8GB RAM be more compatible than 4GB RAM with my laptop having AMD Ryzen 3 3250U processor 4GB RAM when trying to upgrade it?

Hi:

 

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

 

Maintenance and Service Guide HP 14 Laptop PC

 

Chapter 1 has the memory upgrade info.

 

Your notebook has two memory slots and can support up to 2 x 8 GB of memory.

 

You posted that your notebook is running W10 32 bit.

 

If that was not a mistake, a 32-bit operating system cannot address more than 4 GB of memory.

 

If you are running a 64 bit operating system on your notebook, yes upgrading to 8 GB would be an improvement.

 

You may also want to consider adding an 8 GB memory chip in the empty slot and having 12 GB of memory.

Yes, the 32-bit was a mistake. My laptop's system type is 64-bit.

Will the additional 8GB RAM work perfectly?
