Hi. I have a ProBook 640 G1 with an Intel core i5 4th gen processor that for some reason can't install or load 64bit windows. Whenever I try making a fresh windows 64bit installation or even inserting a 64bit preloaded windows hard drive, the laptop for some reason gets stuck in a boot loop only going as far as the windows before restarting. However when I try installing the 32bit version everything runs just smoothly. This device's specs indicate that it should be able to run 64bit os but why could this be happening?

Figured it out! Guess it had something to do with a multi core setting in bios\device configuration being automatically set to enabled and greyed out because the deep sleep setting was also set to on. So I disabled deep sleep and then went ahead and disabled the multi core setting as well. Unit finally powered with 64 bit windows.
