Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there. Not sure if this question is in the correct category but here goes...

I'm trying to update Windows 10 on my notebook. I'm on version 1909 and the latest is 21H1. The update takes a couple of hours (at least) before telling me to restart. I restart and the laptop goes off before coming back on again and then gets stuck with the HP logo on the screen. I turn the laptop off then on and it starts up ok, however when I check if the latest version has been downloaded it still states that I'm on version 1909 with the latest version 21H1. Any ideas of how to get round this! Thanks.

That will not work. You ignored many updates! Right now (21H2) 19044.1415 is up to date.

Download the last "Media Creation Tool" (21H2) from MS and prepare a USB-Stick. Connect it to your Laptop.
Disconnect your Internet access! (WiFi off!)
Run the setup.exe from the USB-Stick. (Inplacement) It will reboot 2-3 times.
When ready and you are back on the Desktop reconnect your Internet access and run the December Update.
In the end you can delete the Folder (Windows.old)

The method that @VH2000 is the way I have done this, so I can confirm that works.

Just be sure to run the setup.exe file from INSIDE Windows.  Do NOT boot from the USB stick -- as that will force a Clean Install and will erase everything currently on the PC.
