Product: HP EliteBook 840 G3 Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR)

Hello I hope someone can help me solve my problem, I bought a business class laptop off Amazon that came with a locked BIOS administrator password (thankfully the seller was kind enough to at least provide me with the power on password) and I currently have no way to unlock it.  I can access the PowerShell config interface and see the details but that's about it.  Is there a way that I can have my laptop unlocked short of taking it in to a computer repair shop?   The seller has been unresponsive upon request.

BIOS (and Power) passwords are encoded into the firmware of the motherboard and we have no access of any kind to that. Changing such a password requires completely replacing the motherboard with a new one that does NOT have a password encoded into the firmware -- and that usually costs a LOT more than simply replacing the computer.

 

So, there is no way we can help you with this.
