Wiped my C drive installing clean Windows11 to free up space on my SSD without all the HP support and Recovery Partitions. Windows boots up fine. But  Windows will not complete setup without checking updates using wifi. No wifi service is found probably because the generic windows installtion does not contain laptop specific drivers. How do I proceed?

Thank You

POST SCRIPT: I cloned the C Drive of another similar HP Pavilion laptop. All is good now. Thank goodness for disk cloning software and ability to get into the hardware guts of the HP laptop.

Hi @Richard7x

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

That was a bold and brilliant recovery—cloning the drive from a similar HP Pavilion was a smart move, especially when faced with a clean install that lacked essential drivers.

Your instincts and technical skill really paid off.

Your cloning solution was elegant and effective—especially for HP systems where recovery partitions often include drivers and firmware tweaks.

Please mark it as an Accepted Solution It helps others and spreads support. 💙 Thanks! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
