HP Notebook – 17-ca1124ng
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I bought a HP Notebook – 17-ca1124ng and installed a Windows 10 Pro version using a DVD from Microsoft (bought new).

Last week I formated my drive (all partitions) and did a clean install of Windows 10 Pro. Everything was fine. No HP software, no bloatware.

After Windows Update in the upcoming hours there was a lot of HP software installed. They are listet in Windows Update as driver update and were installed automatically.

This are the "drivers":

- HP Inc. - HIDClass (listed 2x)
- HP Inc. - System (listed 3x)
- HP Inc. - Extension (listed 4x)
- HP Inc. - SoftwareComponent (listed 5x)

One of the service is HP Touchpoint Analytics Service (I don´t want this telemetry service).

I cannot remove that files/drivers because they are not listed in Programs/Apps or another place. Also there is generally no HP Software to find in apps.

I think the drivers listet above were installed to a fresh and clean Windows installation by using the WPBT in UEFI.

How can I do a clean install w/o any HP software? How can I prevent HP drivers to install on my system?

(It doesn´t matter if I have to do a reinstall of Windows again).

EDIT-1:

Generally, what is the reason of HP Touchpoint Analytics Service when HP PC Hardware Diagnostics/HP Windows Hardware Diagnostics/HP Support Assistant are NOT installed?

One solution could be to exclude drivers in Windows update with gpedit.msc. But that blocks all drivers. Those from AMD or Intel are useful.

The Bios version is F.61 Rev.A from June 2021

Kind regards.

Otto

Hi, Otto:

I think you can disable the HP Touchpoint Analytics Service in the windows control panel>administrative tools>services section.

Press Windows Key+R and type services.msc in the Run box, and hit enter.

Look for HP Touchpoint Analystics Client in the Services listing.

If you see it, double-click on the service, set its Startup type to disabled, and select Stop to end its current session.

You can use the Hide Windows update utility that I zipped up and attached below that should prevent unwanted updates from installing.

You have to run the hide windows update utility before windows installs the files you don't want.

So, if you know where the files are installed, you can uninstall them, restart the PC and then immediately run the hide windows update utility.

The  HP Inc. - HIDClass is probably some kind of updated driver such as the wireless button or whatnot.

Not sure that needs to be uninstalled.

Thank you. I was able to set the start type to "disabled".  I hope the system doesn´t change it back again.

I also tested your tool Hide Windows update utility. But as you said I think I will have to run that before I initial run Windows Update after installing Windows.

For now I will wait Windows 11 comes to my pc. Then I will do a clean install again and see what the tool can do.

Thanks a lot for your help 🙂
