I'm trying to use the HP Cloud Recovery Tool to reinstall Windows 10 Pro. I use the HP utility to determine my product ID, HP ProBook 45454s, and it gives me the tag number. But when it does an autodetect in the Cloud Recovery Tool it shows the same product ID but states that it is an invalid tag #. I've also tried inputting it manually with and without the last digits (#xxx) as suggested, but it still lists it as invalid. Any suggestions? I thought about using the HP recovery tool (F11 at boot up) but I think this unit originally came w/ Windows 8 pro and I upgraded it so not sure the Boot HP recovery utility would reinstall Win8 or 10?

Hi:
Your notebook is not supported by the HP cloud recovery tool.
Only PC's made in 2016 or later are supported by that utility.
If the PC was previously upgraded to W10, you can reinstall W10 for free by creating bootable installation media using the media creation tool at the link below.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
If you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, select the 'I don't have a product key' option, and W10 will install and automatically activate once the PC is reconnected to the internet.
After W10 installs, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.
