Yes it means the wireless card is OK and it is an Atheros not a Broadcom so use the Atheros driver on the page I linked.

You don't have to do anything special. The Broadcom driver never got registered since there is no device to need it. Just install the Atheros driver.
The unknown device is the hard drive protection (accelerometer) driver which should also be on the page I linked.

Hello Huffer.
Following on from your success at finding the correct driver for my internet connection problems.
I am having difficulty connecting my blue tooth device (Bose Speaker) to the notebook.
The notebook cannot find the device...
I have looked in Device Manager and found in
"Bluetooth Radios"
generic bluetooth adapter
Microsoft bluetooth Enumerator
"Network Adapters"
Bluetooth Devic (Personnel Area Network)
Blurtooth Device (RFComm Protocol TDI)
Microsoft visual wifi miniport adapter
Qual comm Atheros wifi adapter
Reatek PC1e GBE Family controller
Do I need to delete any of these or install other drivers ?
Hope you can help me again.
Thank you

Hi Huffer
I have uninstalled generic driver from "Bluetooth Radio" and installed Atheros bluetooth driver sp55212.
The device manager again shows in "Bluetooth Radio" generic blue tooth and Microsoft Blue tooth Enumerator.
Still no blue tooth connection to (Bose Speaker).
Have I deleted the right driver in the first place?
Is the sp55212 the correct driver to install.
Thank you
Trevor

Yes that is the driver I would have told you to install. Atheros BT for Windows 7 32 or 64 bit and supposed to work with the wifi/BT combo card in your laptop. You might see if you can bring up a device id for the bluetooth card and let's be sure we have the right one.

Check this old thread that comes up when I google that Device ID:

Thank you Huffer for your reply.
I have tried the link you suggest and all the links on the thread say "page not found".
Unless I am mistaken all the post in the thread seem to be for a different HP model.
Sorry but I have not made any progress from your instruction.
Thank you
Trevor
