@Icent, Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Community! 🎉
I’m here to help you troubleshoot your issue and get things back on track. Just follow these steps below, and we’ll have you running smoothly in no time:
The fan error 90B typically indicates a problem with your laptop’s cooling fan. Here’s a list of possible causes and steps to fix it:
- The fan might not be connected properly after disassembly.
- The fan itself might be damaged or malfunctioning.
- The fan's power cable might not be reconnected or securely attached.
Try these:
Make sure your laptop is powered off and unplugged from any power sources.
- Open your laptop again and check if the fan cable is properly connected to the motherboard
- Check if anything is physically blocking the fan from spinning freely.
- Gently spin the fan with your finger to see if it moves freely. If it doesn’t, the fan might be jammed or broken.
After ensuring everything is connected properly and clean, reassemble your laptop and try turning it on again.
Check BIOS Settings:
- If the error still appears, restart the laptop, enter the BIOS and reset it to default.
Sometimes updating the BIOS can resolve the issues. You can download the latest BIOS version from the HP Support website.
If the fan is still not working or the error persists, you may need to replace the cooling fan.
