i tried the link that "Paul" provided and it installed on my hp pavilion tx1000 running window 7 64. and i followed the steps the driver asked, after installation was done my computer started to run the new drivers and gave me an error saying the new drivers weren't good, but right after the computer itself opened a new installation window and started to install new drivers which work fine. now i can see all the chipset drivers installed on the Device Manager. I hope this help, and i want to thank Paul for the link.

According to this page http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01892673, HP will not be supporting Windows 7 driver updates for some machines. Mine is one that it will not support. Check out the table and read all that HP has to say. Some of the Vista drivers will work with Win 7.
So, I cannot resolve the issue with my coprocessor on my HP pavilion dv9700, unless I reinstall Vista (gag) or XP.
Bummer...and it took me HOURS to figure this out.
Why would HP not support all of their laptops? Makes no sense to me.

Hi, Msleryan:
All you need to do is to install the Vista nForce chipset driver for your notebook which will install on windows 7 as well.
You do not have to install Vista to get the coprocessor to work again.
That is what everyone else has done including me, to get that device installed.

Please provide the complete model number or product number of your notebook.
HP Notebook PCs - How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Also, If you need drivers, please follow these steps:
1. In the Run box type devmgmt.msc.
2. Unknown devices would be listed as such and marked out with a yellow question mark.
3. Select the unknown device or other device for which you need drivers and right click to access Properties.
4. In the Properties window click on Details tab and select Device Instance Id or Hardware ID from the drop down.
5. An alphanumeric string like this PCI\VEN_1217&DEV_7130&SUBSYS_012F1025&REV_01\4&6B16D5B&0&33F0 is the identification marker for the device.
6. Please provide this number so that we can suggest the appropriate driver.

Vidya

Won't work for me. I have a 64-bit OS.
When I try, I get 2 error messages saying "You are running a 32 bit version of Nvidia uninstaller on a 64 bit system (Binary type 1386). Wrong version of ininstaller. Uninstaller exits now." And "The operating system detected is different than the one this installation package is intended for. The installation will be terminated." ...and it did.
Any other ideas?
Thanks.
