My internal hdd of HP notebook, 15-ba079dx crashed and Im now lost with how to get my laptop running. I am out of warranty already. I had a factory installed Windows 10 64 bit and microsoft office 365.
1. Should I visit the HP service center to get it repaired? Will they reinstall the OS? If yes, How much will it cost me? (I am not sure of this option as im in Tokyo currently and don't know the language much to interact with the service people)
2. Can I buy an internal hard disk and replace it with the crashed one by myself? If yes, which model hdd should I buy? And, how will I get the Win10 operating system into it?
It would be of great help if someone could help me with this.

- I don't know the cost or repair because I don't have FULL information of your machine now. Your machine is from the US, repair shops may say they don't have parts of your machine.
- Yes, you can buy a 2.5" HDD and replace yourself using information from page 50 of the following manual
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05227786.pdf
Since your machine previously ran Windows 10, you can do a clean install W10 for free by using the media creation tool at the link below.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
The tool will allow you to make a bootable installation media (USB/DVD) and you can use installation media to install.
During the installation process if you are asked to enter a product key, check the 'Skip' box and W10 will install and then automatically activate once you are connected to the internet using the key embedded in BIOS of your machine.
Then you can install the drivers and available software you need from your PC's support page.
Regards.

Thanks a ton. Its a relief to hear that.
I will do it as soon as I get hold of my laptop.
But, can I ask about the microsoft office 365, Will the reinstallation bring it back or would I need to buy it again?
