GOOD DAY, I`V GOT A CHALLENG HERE, I WANT TO DISABLE MY COMPAQ PRESIARO CQ57 PASSWORD FROM THE BIOS, I WAS ABLE TO PUT A PASSWORD AND ANY TIME THE SYSTEM COMES UP IT WILL ASK FOR THE PASSWD WHICH I WILL INPUT, BUT I JUST WANT TO DISABLE IT TOTALLY FROM THE BIOS OR SOMEWERE ELSE. PLEASE I NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE.

Hi,
You can remove the requirement for a power on password as follows.
Shut down the notebook. Tap away at the esc key as soon as you press the power button to access the Start-up menu and then select f10 to enter the Bios menu. Use the arrow keys to highlight the Security tab and hit enter. Use the arrow keys again to highlight power on password and hit enter. Enter the current password and then for the new password, just leave this blank and hit enter - do the same for the confirmation field. Press f10, select to save the new settings and hit enter.

Could you help me with the same problem on a compaq mini702ea SN: [Personal Information Removed]
Edit: Sorry apparently clicked on the wrong tab. I have a problem with the bios password for this model.
