When i try to play DVD from the laptop, i am getting 'Insert disc' Window showing the message 'Please insert a disc into drive E:, 'Help me choose a disc' link follows the message. Then DVD drive ejects automatically.

 

The DVD drive of my Laptop ejectes aoutomatically with in 5-10 sec again & again. please help me to short this issue .

Hello,

 

                Yes after uninstalling the drive once after you reboot your computer it should aumatically install preinstalled  DVD drivers you do not have to install any drivers.

Hello,

 

            Since you mentioned that the DVD drive ejects automatically, Please try the following steps and check if that helps.

 

I would suggest you to uninstall the DVD drive and check.

A. Steps to uninstall DVD drive:

a.    Click on Start button.
b.    In the search box type devmgmt.msc and then press enter.
c.    Select the DVD ROM device and right click on it
d.    Now select Uninstall.
e.    Restart your computer.

             Thanks for reply one thing i can suggest you is to restore the operating system to previous date when DVD drive was working fine.

 

To perform system restore please follow the instructions below. (Windows 7)

 

From the Start menu, type: Restore in the Search programs and files dialog box.
From the list of results, click System Restore.
In the System Restore window, click Next.
From the list of restore points, select the Date and Time you wish to restore from.

 

Even after system restore if issue still persists please reinstall the operating system your hp recovery discs.

I understand DVD drive on your laptop ejects automatically.

 

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

 

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?

 

Please provide the product number of your PC to assist you better.

 

Try updating the BIOS on your PC and check if it helps.

 

Also, Please try the below steps.

 

Click Start on the Left Bottom of the Screen.
Click Start Search
Type “regedit” and Hit Enter
On the Left hand Pane you can find H-Key-Local Machine.
On the Left side of H-Key-Local Machine you can find “>” sign Click on that “>” Sign.
You can find “System”, just click on beside its “>” sign.
Where you can find “Current Control Set”, just click on beside its “>” sign.
Where you can find “Control”, just click on beside on its “>” sign.
Where you can find “Class”, just click on beside on its “>” sign.
Please look for “{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}”, just click on it(Not on the arrow beside it)
In the right side of the pane you can find ‘Upper Filter’
Please select ‘Upper Filter’and delete it.
Then choose the Lower filter and delete it.

 

Also, Uninstall the CD/DVD drivers from device manager.

 

Hold Windows key + Letter R key.

Run dialog box would open type devmgmt.msc

Device manager window will open.

Expand CD/DVD from the list.

Right click on the DVD drive click uninstall.

Restart your PC and check if the DVD drive is ejecting by itself.
