Is this the standard for HP support?
6:05 PM You have granted full permission to Technician. To revoke, click the red X on the toolbar or press Pause/Break on the keyboard.
6:06 PM Connecting...
6:06 PM Connected. A support representative will be with you shortly.
6:06 PM Support session established with SUBARNA.
6:06 PM SUBARNA: Welcome to HP Customer Support for Computer. My name is Subarna and I will be your technical support specialist today.
NOTE: For security reasons, PLEASE DO NOT send credit card information via this chat window. If I need that information from you later, I will link you to a separate, secure, HP web page to provide your credit card details.
6:06 PM SUBARNA: Hi, how are you doing today?
6:06 PM Greg : Good. How about you?
6:07 PM SUBARNA: Good to know that. I am doing fine as well. Thank you for asking.
6:07 PM SUBARNA: Please provide your contact number, in case the chat gets disconnected, we will call you back within 5 to 10 minutes to re-establish the chat session. You may receive a call from 1800xxxxxx, please be available on your phone.
6:07 PM Greg : I prefer to not provide a contact number.
6:08 PM SUBARNA: No issues.
6:09 PM Greg : Talk to me.
6:10 PM SUBARNA: If I have understood the issue correctly you are getting an administrative password pop up. Would that be correct?
6:11 PM Greg : I open my laptop. The password screen (not pop up) appears and I must provide my password.
6:11 PM Greg : The machine was in sleep mode, not just starting up.
6:11 PM SUBARNA: Okay, did you enter the login password?
6:12 PM Greg : I've turned off the login password. The machine is in sleep mode after I closed the top. When I open it, I must provide a password.
6:13 PM SUBARNA: Okay, so did you try to login with the password which you used to before?
6:14 PM Greg : I only use one password. I've never used any other password.
6:15 PM SUBARNA: Alright Greg, let me inform you that the password which you are being asked to login is the BIOS password. This cannot be reset from our end and we have to take the notebook in for repair. This would be a paid repair where the motherboard will be replaced by the service center technician.
6:15 PM SUBARNA: Would you like to send it in for repair?
6:16 PM Greg : Escalate my problem please to a more advanced technician.
6:17 PM SUBARNA: Please allow me a moment.
6:21 PM SUBARNA: Greg, I do understand your concern, but we do not have any fix for this issue remotely. Hence, I would not be able to escalate this to a different technician. We can take the laptop in for service if you agree to it.
6:23 PM Greg : You have no idea what you're talking about. I've only owned this laptop for 3 weeks. There's not charge for any service under warranty. Additionally, There's no bios problem here. You'd better get me to someone who knows something right now, or I'm going to be making many phone calls to HP and I will mention your name. I want support, not crap.
6:26 PM SUBARNA: I do understand your concern and do apologize for the inconvenience, although we respect your decision.
6:27 PM Greg : Will you escalate my issue?
6:27 PM SUBARNA: Let me check if my supervisor is available I will surely connect you with him.
6:31 PM SUBARNA: I trust you as a customer, so I what I will do for you here is we will take the laptop for a repair and send to our service center, they will go ahead and evaluate if this happened due to normal usage. If it happened due to normal usage then they will go ahead and do the necessary replacement free of cost but if they find out that it is not then the team will call you up for a confirmation for the charges. If you decline then it will cost you $99.00 for declining the charge. If you are fine with this i will go ahead and create a repair order for you.
6:32 PM Greg : Will you escalate my issue?
6:33 PM SUBARNA: My supervisor is busy on another call, I would request you to play stay connected or I can arrange a call back for you if you can provide a contact number.
6:35 PM Greg : I'll stay connected. I also will restate the problem. I turn the laptop on. I've disabled the need to login at startup. When I close the running laptop, it goes into sleep mode. I've set the laptop to not require a password on waking up from sleep. Yet it does. That is the situation.
6:36 PM SUBARNA: Do you have the laptop in front of you now?
6:36 PM Greg : Yes
6:37 PM SUBARNA: Okay, if I take the rescue lens will you be able to show me the issue?
6:37 PM Greg : What is the rescue lens?
6:38 PM SUBARNA: Let me explain.
6:39 PM SUBARNA: The Rescue Lens app allows us to use the camera on your mobile device to see what you are seeing. You can show us the problem in a live support session and we can walk you through the steps for resolution. It’s like seeing through your eyes to help resolve the issue. This helps us understand the issue quicker leading to a quicker resolution saving your time.
6:39 PM SUBARNA: All you need to do is download and install the Rescue Lens app from the App Store/Google Play depending on the mobile device you are using and once you are ready we will give you a pin which you need to enter for us to gain access to the camera on your device.
6:43 PM Greg : This sounds unprofessional to me. I'm not willing to install apps to some other device. Normally someone in your position would remote into my system. I have no confidence in you. I won't waste my time further. We are thirty-five minutes into your pathetic effort at support. You are quite possibly the worst support person I've ever encountered. I'm out.
So the question is: how do I setup my Win10 Pro to permit wake from sleep to not require my administrative password? When I give that password, I'm permitted into the system.
Perhaps someone would be kind enough to tell me how to center my laptop display if it's not too much trouble. It's slightly skewed to the left.
Thanks,
Greg

Hi, Greg:
Please see this link for how to not require a password when waking from sleep mode.
https://www.windowscentral.com/how-prevent-windows-10-requiring-password-when-resuming-sleep
I just followed the instructions myself, and they were easy to follow.
- Open Settings.
- Click on Accounts.
- Click on Sign-in options.
Under "Require sign-in," choose Never from the drop-down menu to complete the task.
Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to help you with the centering of the display, because I have never run into that problem before.
