Hi there.
When the battery on my device runs out (sometime's I'm unaware as this might happen while it's in sleep mode), it shuts down and won't charge. When it's in this state, I press the power button the amber light flashes next to the charging port. And when I plug in the charger it doesn't come on as a constant amber light either (which is what normally happens when charging). I then have to wait about 3 days until the amber light no longer flashes when I press the power button, and at this point I know I can now put the charger in and the device will power up and turn on.
This is SO frustrating and leaves me without my laptop for 3 days (particularly annoying when I have assignments to write!).
It seems to me it's going into some protective hibernation mode or something?
Would love some advise if this there is something I can do to avoid this or a setting I can change.
Thanks!

Hello @robyn_grace
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I am sorry about the issues you experience.
Try updating the BIOS/UEFI
Both UEFI and BIOS are low-level software/firmware that starts when you boot your PC before booting your operating system [Windows], but UEFI is a more modern solution. Sometimes, an update may resolve issues with the Sleep mode.
