I have an Envy 360 convertible and want to buy the absolute tracking and theft recovery (formerly LoJack, formerly Computrace). There is almost no information on the HP website and the "help me select" page is broken. I can buy it for a few dollars cheaper from Absolute, does it matter where I buy it? If the laptop is stolen, do I call HP or Absolute? I guess I am asking if there is any integration to the HP support assistant or anything else I need to know. Thanks!

Welcome to the HP User Community.

Does not matter whether you purchase through the Store or from Absolute.

The plan is your choice.

Optional Security / Tracking Coverage – Track and Lock

The security, after purchase and installation, is embedded into the computer.

This security is not part of HPSA (HP Support Assistant).  No idea whether a link would show up in HPSA or not.

In the past, when I've add the service, I've contacted the company (Absolute) directly when I had questions.

Contact information is available after installation, of course.
