I am trying to get some help, but HP is useless, since my laptop is out of warranty apparently. I am happy to pay them, if only they could actually help.
computer stopped charging, thought battery problem, so got a new battery, the battery would not charge, and after the new battery ran out of charge, the laptop is dead. I tried updating BIOS etc. it appears to be a software problem, since the light is not coming on when I plug the charger and sometimes it used to charge before, but now it is completely dead. I think it is some BIOS something, connect to windows update, tried looking up fora, saw some mentions of such problems , but no realistic solution. I cannot buy another battery just so I can run the computer and get data etc. off before trashing the computer.
there must be another way ? why is there no one from HP helping, I cannot be the only one with such a problem.
I checked with alternate chargers, no dice , and all chargers work with other devices so not an adapter problem.
So it looks like something in software,
Before it completely died I managed to also update the BIOS, but that did not help, or made things worse as the computer died now after the battery discharged
The light on side used to come on orange, then it started being white, now it lights up briefly, sometimes red sometimes orange but dies shortly thereafter and does not turn on. I even disconnected battery, does not help
