Hi, @ianazmi :

See if these drivers work...

PCI Data acquisition...

This package contains the driver that enables the Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework firmware. Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework provide system temperature and power utilization information for the system thermal protection to function properly. This package is provided for supported notebook models running a supported operating system.

PCI E/D Controller:

This package provides the Intel Trusted Execution Engine Interface (TXE) Driver for the supported notebook models running a supported operating system. The Intel Trusted Execution Engine Interface enables the Secure Boot and provides services required for platform security features such as Intel Platform Trust Technology (Intel PPT).

I would need you to post the hardware ID's for the unknown devices needing drivers, so I can figure out what driver each of them needs.

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID.

Hi: @savvy2,

Thanks for your response. Anyway, I've already visited that link before starting this thread. Well, if you noticed,  my questions came up precisely after I visited that link that -forgive me to put it this way-  : "providing so many drivers for this notebook that make me confused which one is the right one".. 🙂

Thanks to Paul that drive me step by step sorting & finding the right drivers so I don't have to download them all and make a "trial and error installation".

In what country are you? thanks.

Hi, I just got the HP Notebook 14-am516tu (with DOS only). I want to install Windows 7 but couldn't find any drivers to download in "Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads". There are only drivers for Windows 10.

why w7? (can we have a clue? here? just one?) w10 is free, the coa sticker on the bottom makes that true.

why buck that sticker?  why make it 10x more hard that needs to be, like below.......

Hello Ianazmi..

here is your  post, again.  we cant examine it personally to see total truth, no we can't.

for example,  did the last wild man THERE, delete all partitions, on the  HDD/SSD?

so it has DOS,  now.  ok. (im a DOS guy too,,,)

and if you read the HP site it only supports w10, is that not clear.?

what does support mean, seems most posters here have trouble with that small word, in fact its a big word. lists look at that word.  (context)

Support means,

  • all drivers are correct for w10,  and supported by HP. not MS, not larry in some garage or some virsus maker.
  • all HP software seen day1 , all those fancy features, that make a 14-am516tu, what it was day 1.
  • Hp support for 10 years.  (seems kinda, important no?
  • Hp F11 key works, say you get a Virus attack, you press F11, and the restore partition brings you back to day 1, like HP made and all the above FULL SUPPORT.
  • HP sells the media kit for this, PC, and not w7;Only w10, like it came with new.  say the HDD crashed !!!
  • more, im sure i missed many other things, that comprise full SUPPORT.

So why windows 7?  why must it be that,  ?  and where did you get W7, it takes a COA key to get it.? so?

The HP OEM keys do not work with Retail W7 or 10 keys, you know that too , right?

Did you get w7 for free, or just what,? why pick the older more less secure OS , if starting fresh. ?

if F11 works,  does it?  that key, is the partition present.  DId  you try F11 ? (OS reload magic key)

w7 walking the wild side of life, avoiding all HP support for ever. ok, what problems are there... sure...

drivers, why be confuse. if you tried a wrong drive the HP engine (SP12345.exe) tells you BAM, wrong driver and aborts.

ME:

I too have  an HP Laptops runs w10 ,HP does not support w10 on my LT but i got all drivers working the long hard way.

(LONG AND HARD)

W10 loaded and some things work., and more during  MS LIVE PnP,  and then me going to each chip maker, 1 by 1, getting a w10 driver., that works.

and all my HP apps are dead or missing or fail to load "wrong OS error" (case in point HP security apps, DOA)

im happy like that, have plenty of real w10 license keys, so I'm running WILD. on my own, no HP help ever.

Personally i run what Ever I want, (and know how to find drivers, (expert on that, I am worked at intel 6 years)

so what can you do ? well,  lots really.

why not installed w7 and see what it does?,  why come here and ask for support for the un-supported OS>

sure, confused.  read the pages on how to install w7, (millions of examples online) and see what it does

W7 will not make the PC catch fire, or crack in half.

Microsoft.com (Media>? , you never said)

install it and see what Microsoft can find,  (PnP)  do you understand PnP and what the other posters told you using

a PnP , PCI scanner  program.

lets say,  wifi and ethernet ports are dead.  and video weak, (has a  lame pnp, video driver is baseline and graphics limited, easy fix in most cases this.)

The PCI scans  as seen here.

http://pcdied.com/pci-101.html

so you do the scans, (find the maker codes and device codes you do)

then see the real PCI codes for the 3 chips not supported fully by Microsoft. (for example)

you go to each makers chip site and get there W7 driver and load it.

the video chip (pretend) is Nvidia., to go there, and get it and load it. BINGO, its perfect now , graphic GPU chip.

the w10 page for 14-am516tu

shows there we more than one type of network chips uses, intel, boardcom, realtek,  , load them all see what FLIES.

the hp driver packs are smarter than say the intel pack inside, the HP has a wrapper on the driver, called SP12345.exe

this bit of machine code makes sure you have the chips that match it.  and if not,? it tells you , so,  and is harmless, due to the HP magic here,  it only loads on supported systems.

why are you delaying

get your disk W7 (we use usb mem sticks, today)

and install, it, after wiping the HDD clean.

then

decide if MBR or GPT formatting is best for you, we cant tell you, it's YOUR choice, (easy less secure of harder more secure, )

then install w7, if you delete all partitions (id not do that if the w10 restore partition is there, you  never said so....

but if true it's gone, then w7 installs easy.

install the w7 media install device  then boot to it with F9 key

and let it do the job

if you get stuck come back here and ask what to do....

Do know that just because you want or need a driver, there is no guarantee of getting one.?

w7, is mostly,  all good to find. (newer PC's not relics)

at each makers site.

the problems come up with w10 or older than W7, due to some chip makers do not support those OS.

we can not make them do so,

parting shot:

why not just press F11 and load w10.

if F11 fails. get the HP media kit and load it. end story, back to day 1, and everything works right as a TEAM.

responding to....

providing so many drivers for this notebook that make me confused which one is the right one".. Smiley Happy

yes it is confusing, but try to learn why,  " different builds ,different years , different countries"

i can tell you did not register your PC at HP.com  (best I can tell)

i can tell that because they ask for the serial number. and with that can tell you what chips you have, there.

why do they ask that, , well that is because, that and the last 2 digits "TU", tells the what BUILD you have

did you know some laptops ran from 8 generations> and all had different parts inside. yes.

and export models?  YES!

did you know that the laptops outside USA use different wifi chips (by laws in your country? ) if not in USA>

i do not know what 'tu" code is. I will try to discover that now, the hard way, I'M NOT HP.

if I try to find your laptop in USA its not sold here, TU

its sold in South America,  and India,  so where are you, if not here,

then you need to get the drivers that match YOUR CHIPS for YOUR COUNTRY.

wifi/bluetooth, 3G/4G or any wireless of any kind may need special drivers to make your counties (unstated) happy.

our country is FCC, and the signals are regulated here by our FCC (laws of Radio bands)

in other countries, this can be very different.

so what country are you in, and why not register your PC first and then find out what is in side it.

and last, why not try the drivers there seen by you, that are failing.

you load w7 and see things fail (you sure will) and then try to fix them by loading the drivers

if you cant find one ask here.

and tell first what chip is dead (wifi?) and what country you reside.

this HP PC does not have the wonderful HP app, called SOFTPAQ,  this magic APP

does all this magic,  you run it and it check your drivers and then checks HP drivers

and then update the PC to the correct drivers,

but first tell us why W7? why are you using the WRONG OS,

just one tiny clue, why the FREE W10 OS , is NO GOOD.

free means, the COA sticker on bottom gives you a licence to run W10 OEM.

for sure.

or why not drive to a PC shop

tell the tech what to do, and pay him/her.

if you tell him w7, it may take him all day and cost you many rupee? (Win or fail)

and will cost the price  of 1 retail W7 license from microsoft.  $$$  not cheap,  guess at $115 USD.

the W10 COA OEM sticker on the bottom costs you NOTHING.

the price of bucking the system is COST's,  hard labor  and failure.

Hi again @Paul,

Forgive me to ask your help again because my question now is for win 10 (or should I post a news thread?)..

I wanna re-use my old HP 430 notebook, which using win7.

Can I install win10 to this notebook (I just worry that if I start installing then turns out that it can not, then I have to spend much time recovering back).

If can installed, then would you please tell me the list of drivers to be intalled step by step just like you told me when I installed it to my new HP-14-AM516TU.

Thank's again.. :generic:
