HP Pavilion Power - 15-cb086ng

I have HP Pavilion Power - 15-cb086ng with windows 10 and I'm trying to install ubuntu 18.04 beside windows and I couldn't untill now. It looks like there is my laptop is lock up only for windows 10 because my laptop always freeze during ubuntu installation.I have asked a technical person about this and he told me that "the only way to do it is erase the hard disks totally first and maybe change the partition type (GPT,MBR)" and I have SSD and HDD . my question is: How to install ubuntu without Freezing or How to unlock my laptop and install ubuntu and windows10 ?

Hi

W10 normally uses GPT / Secure Boot and not MBR or Legacy.

Ubuntu 18:04 should be quite capable of installing alongside W10 without wiping any partitions or data.

However if you have an SSD that may be the problem.

If in doubt please ask.

Thank you for helping

Yes I have SSD and I don't know how to solve this problem, because I want to install ubuntu on it like windows.
But I also need to know if there is a lock up on my laptop for ubuntu and how to deal with it.

Hi

Step 1 disable Windows Fast Start-Up

Step 2 make a LIVE distro on a DVD/USB like Lubuntu 18:04 or Ubuntu itself.

https://lubuntu.net/downloads/

Run it as a LIVE distro prior to installing.

The Media you have could be damaged.

I have W10, Debian, Lubuntu and OpenSuSE installed, so try without the SSD.

Hi

I did all these steps, but still get freeze when I try to install it. Like in this image below.

I´m using rufus to create a bootable disk, and I have tried Universal-USB-Installer, unetbootin, and YUMI but I get the same problem.

Hi

So if the download is corrupt, you just keep repeating the error.

As it's not a HP error try

https://ubuntuforums.org/

someone there may be able to help.

Thanks

I have tried Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 18.04, Ubuntu-Mate 18.04, and CentOS 7.5 and I still have the same problem.

I also tried these distributions on virtual box and it works.
