A moderator asked for some input on the subject from an internal HP Engineer when I posted the request for information.

As of this date I have not recieved any new information.

I will let you know as soon as I do.

Thank you very much!

I wanted to do one more check that I think it might be useful for you.

I have found this link and checked the following with the Intel Processor Identification Utility:

There are two things that you should check on the CPU Technologies tab look for "Intel® Virtualization Technology” and on the CPUID tab look for “Execute Disable Bit”

And I think everything is OK regarding the CPU:

CPU-2.PNG

EDIT:

Additional Information from Windows 10 PowerShell:

Hyper-V Requirements:

VM Monitor Mode Extensions: Yes Virtualization Enabled In Firmware: Yes Second Level Address Translation: Yes Data Execution Prevention Available: Yes

Windows Specifications:

Edition: Windows 10 Pro

Version: 1709

Build: 16299.309

Thanks, but I was already aware of that.

That is what Google is for. 🙂

The first thing I do when someone has a virtualization issue is take a look at Intel's specification for the processor.

That way I don't waste my time, your time or an HP employee's time in asking internally for information when I can't find it on my own.

Yes, and that's actually what I usually do.

I don't want other people to waste time for me if I can provide as much information as possible even risking to be redundant.

This is just to let you know that I'm still active and googling every day, just in case I can find a solution so that I can inform everyone here.. It's not pushing at all! 🙂

The more information we collect the better is the help for all.

The request for internal information is still going on.

Consumer notebook models- virtualization is enabled for most platforms.

Commercial notebook models- Still unknown at this point.

A quick Update:

Just tried to disable Safe Boot: unsuccessful attempt

Also, I tried to update the BIOS to the latest version: still impossible to install Hyper-V.

Hi!

Hyper-V successfully installed after removing the following software: "Check Point Virtual Network Adapter For Endpoint VPN Client". So Virtual network adapter was messing this up.
