Have this error:
Recovery
Your pc/device needs to be repaired
A required driver isn’t connected or hasn’t been discovered

Error 0xc000000f

You’ll need repair tools

I don’t have repair tools, and I’ve called 5 times, first guy hung up on me, the last four never connected. Any tips? Or where I should buy/pick up a recovery?

Hi @Mschleig,

Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips!

I understand that your HP PC does not boot into Windows and display a message as "Recovery - Your PC needs to be repaired. A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed. Error Code 0xc000000f." I'd like to help you with this case.

I did some research and found that this may happen due to Windows OS corruption or the HDD failing. Before we conclude the issue, lets perform the following steps to isolate and fix the issue:

Perform a Hard reset on the notebookA power reset (or hard restart) clears all information from the computer's memory without erasing any personal data. Performing a power reset might fix conditions such as Windows not responding, a blank display, software freezing, keyboard stops responding, or other external devices locking up.

Run the System diagnostics from the F2:

Run the extensive test on the Hard drive as well as on the Memory from F2: Click here

Depending on the test results, If all the test passes, I would suggest you perform a System Recovery using the partition available on the PC. Doing this will delete all the data and set the PC back to the original factory conditions. Please remember to backup your data. If this option does not work, which means that the partition is either corrupted or missing.

The only other way to install Windows would be to order the recovery media for your laptop and using the recovery media you can install Windows. You can check if the recovery media is available online on www.hp.com/drivers by entering the exact model no. of your laptop. To find the exact model no. click here: http://hp.care/2bygf7l
