I got the error message for (90B) saying that my cooling fan wasn't operating I've been attempting to fix it but it keeps shutting down. I've tried using canned air in the vents and vacuuming them. I'm currently attempting to update the BIOS but it gave me a message about my driver's or something not being up to date. There was a url given but I don't know what it was and when I attempted to try, it shut down from overheating. Are there any tips to help? Should I keep trying? Or just give up and take it in somewhere to replace the fan?

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting a 90B error on the notebook, I am glad to assist you.

This error indicates that a problem exists related to the heat removal system. One of two possible events is occurring.

  • The system fan is not spinning or not spinning properly.
  • The temperature inside the case is too high and the fan cannot spin fast enough to remove the heat.

Follow the steps mentioned in this HP document to fix the issue:- Click here
