Hi
Thank you!
You can either order HP Recovery USB directly from HP support for your specific model with a cost of ~$60
Or you can clean install Windows 10 Home 64 bit using Microsoft windows media creation tool by creating UEFI bootable installation USB. Follow this tutorial: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/1950-clean-install-windows-10-a.html
Windows will automatically activated after installation while connected to internet

Hi,
Your laptop came with Windows 8.1 64 bit from factory.
https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04556587
Have you created HP Recovery USB using HP Recovery Manager after first setup of this notebook?
I see that your current installed OS is Windows 10, so have you upgraded and activated to Windows 10 successfully?
If you've upgraded Windows, HP recovery partition might have got corrupted - this is the reason for the message "unable to reset".
Now, please perform extensive hard drive and memory tests from System Diagnostics UEFI by tapping F2 or ESC key as soon as you power on laptop. Let it finish.
Report back with results

Hi Visruth,
Many thanks for assisting me to solve my system issue.
As you said I ordered the recovery kit from HP for Windows 8 as this was originally on my laptop at the time of purchase but I was told they will send me instructions as to how to download the Windows10 afterwards!
Fingers crossed everything goes well by Friday when I receive the recovery kit! 😊
Thank you very much.
