Hi @Ashadmccloud18,
Thank you for the details.
Try these steps:
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Shut down the laptop.
- Disconnect all external devices and peripherals.
- Remove the power adapter and, if possible, the battery.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the power adapter and battery, then try starting the laptop.
Boot into Safe Mode:
- Restart the laptop and press the F8 key repeatedly as soon as the HP logo appears.
- Select 'Safe Mode' from the Advanced Boot Options menu and press Enter.
- If the laptop starts in Safe Mode, you can try performing system restore or uninstalling recently installed updates or drivers that might be causing the issue.
Run HP Hardware Diagnostics:
- Restart the laptop and press the Esc key repeatedly to access the Startup menu.
- Select the option to run diagnostics (usually F2) and follow the on-screen instructions to test hardware components.
Reset the BIOS Settings:
- Access the BIOS menu by pressing the F10 key repeatedly upon startup.
- Navigate to 'Exit' and select 'Load Setup Defaults' or 'Reset to Default'.
- Save changes and exit.
Check and Repair Disk Errors:
- If you can boot into Safe Mode or access Command Prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and press Enter.
- This command will check the disk for errors and attempt repairs.
I hope this helps.
