This seems terribly unfair to receive a new laptop, set it up including with personalization and adding my Microsoft account with has OneDrive with personal photos. Surely HP would make this right? What can I do? Virtual Assistant gets nowhere. A page I found to dispute this does nothing.
I like the laptop and would like to keep it, but seems wrong to buy a new laptop with no warranty!
Can anyone give me a phone # to speak with someone in person? I have been unable to find one.
Thank-you for any answers for my dilemma!

Hi @Annie455,
Thank you for your kind reply, and I’m really sorry to hear you felt the need to return the laptop, but completely understand your decision. 💙
To answer your question: you didn’t make a mistake buying from Walmart at all. Many customers purchase HP products through trusted retail partners like Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon, etc. However, warranty start dates can sometimes default to the shipment date or stock registration date, which is why things can appear off when the product is set up later.
If you ever run into this issue again, you can always submit a warranty dispute with your proof of purchase (receipt) to get it corrected. Here's the link again for ease: 👉 HP Warranty Dispute Form
HP will update the warranty based on the actual purchase date once the request is validated.
I hope this helps.
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍✨

Thank-you so much for your kind reply! I decided it was not worth my time to fight it so I returned it to Walmart, where I got it from.
Now I wonder was my mistake in getting it at Walmart? Is it better to get a laptop directly from the company? Any guidance in that would be most appreciated!
Thank-you, Ann
