Hello,
I have a 2018 Spectre x360 15t-ch000. This model had issues updating to the latest Windows 10 update and a firmware update was released to correct this. I tried to apply the update, it appeared to install successfully, but on restart the machine contiues to crash with a blue screen error. The specific errors change but the system is not stable enough to run for more than a few minutes at best. The inital installation of the firmware was done via the HP support site using the installer from there with the auto-detect feature.
I've tried to install from USB however the machine never boots from the USB stick. Occasionaly on restart I do get to the Windows recovery screen and from there can select the USB stick.
From here I'm stumped though. On the USB stick there are the following:

First thing is to make sure you have correct BIOS. Post your full Model number and Product ID. This should be on the bottom of case.Usually along back edge.
Second thing- you do not boot from the usb BIOS recovery. You insert it into usb port, hold the Windows key and B key and push power button for 3 seconds and release. Continue holding Win and B till a BIOS recovery screen comes up.

BIOS F.25 listed here should be the right one for your Spectre. If it does not work with BIOS recovery-click on Previous versions tab on that file to see the earlier BIOS versions.

I've retried both F.25 and F.24 with no success. When trying to revert to F.24 is gets to the clearing Pending Image (it jumps straight to Block 256/256 100%) then gets to a Error 500 message. It'll then boot (if it gets that far) to Windows where I'm still at F.25.
How can I tell that it's getting the new BIOS from the USB and not a partition on the drive somewhere?
