Hello again Kuroi_Kenshi and Pallipurath;
So I had the Geek Squad appointment early this afternoon. I wish they would have been able to nail down the appointment time before this morning. I was originally told it would be sometime between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. So, I was up nice and early, 8 a.m. I'm not a morning person so you can imagine how I felt getting up with the squirrels and birds. I received an email, that must have sent just after I went to bed last night, telling me that the techie would be here between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. He showed up at about 1 p.m. I sure could have used those extra four hours of sleep.
I explained what had been going on with the original errors, the PC shop repair, the return of the first KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE (0x139) error, then the return of the multiple KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE (0x139) errors and performing the Windows Reset (Keep my files) with a Cloud Download. He said it sounded like the PC was stable as nothing had happened since Saturday. I asked him to check the laptop out to be sure it's not visited by the KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE (0x139) or the IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (0x0A) errors anytime soon. He checked the event viewer for errors and critical messages and there were none to be found. He then ran a memory test along with some other various tests. Nothing was out of the normal range of things so he said the Windows Reset (Keep my files) with a Cloud Download must have fixed whatever was wonky on the laptop. What I really liked was that he cut the usual home visit charge, usually $250 CDN to $99 CDN.
Many thanks to Pallipurath and Kuroi_Kenshi for helping me with this. Muchly appreciated.
