Wondering about a couple of folders in the root drive "C". One is called inetpub, which I think is connected with IIS, which is not installed.  Therefore I don't why its there.

The other is SWSetup which large (4.46 GB). As this laptop has a SSD drive any space that can be recovered is worthwhile.

I think this folder contains drivers etc from the initial setup.

Basically can I copy these to an external HDD as backup and delete. As this laptop came with Windows 10 1703 many of the drivers are probably out of date now.

Gtrateful for any advice

Hi,

You're correct in both cases.

If you don't use IIS, you can delete the inetpub folder - if you get any problem with deleting the folder, open windows Control Panel and in the top right, next to View by: select 'Large Icons'.  From the new layout, select Programs and Features, select 'Turn Windows features on or off' in the left hand pane, clear the checkbox against Internet Information Services then click Ok.  When done, reboot and try deleting the folder again.

The SWSetup folder contains all the software and driver installers that your notebook originally ships with - if you use Recovery Manager to reinstall software or drivers, this is the folder it will access to do so.  It's worth backing up to external storage before you delete it, if only to have all the installers in one place.  There are some ( very few ) installation packages that can only be found in the original SWSetup folder ( ie they are not available to download from your Product Page ) - the only one I can think of at the moment is HP Audio Switch, but there are a few others.
