OK so everything went perfect, I contacted the support, they emailed me and after a few emails and a few days I have my BIOS pass reset to blank now. Thank you very much for helping me out of this mess.

I recently bought a refurbished elitebook 6930p from a dealer on ebay. it came fully working but with an unknown bios password. I have tried the bios utility executable but everytime I click on it, a dos window quickly flashes up then disapears. i have tried running as admin too but still no joy. the reason why I want to reset the password is so I can update my bios and hopefully rid myself of another issue. every so often, the screen will freeze with various random lines and lock my system. I have to force reboot. I was told that updating the bios sometimes cures this issue. it may not, but I want to elliminate all issues where possible. is there any other useful way that I can reset the bios password?

Have the same issue with my probook 6455b don't have admin password for the bios. I contacted HP to have then escalate the support gave the the uuid and all and was told they couldn't do anything. Because the bios is set to only load through the hard drive and the file they would send me needs to boot via USB. Any ideas? I really don't want to replace the motherboard.

Regarding the first link, it looks exactly the same except there is no chip in that location.
Second link, I contacted the ebayer and they said they could not help me with the chips location.
Thanks anyway
There is a chip that looks similar that if below the CMOS battery but looks much smaller in fact so small I don't think I could solder.
