Hello @Amanda_W-93
This is strange.
Please seek help here: Intel Community Optane Memory
Unfortunately, I can't wave a magic wand. My options are exhausted...
Kind regards

Yeah I thought It was quite weird as well. I guess this confirms my suspicions that my issues are related to the Optane Memory. Hopefully 3rd posts the charm and someone at the Optane site can help me puzzle this out. This is my first laptop with an Optane SSD and honestly, even if it wasn't discontinued, it would definitely be my last. If I thought it was a viable option I would send it back and ask to have the Optane SSD switched for a normal one.
Thanks for all your help regardless.

So I've started getting crashes WITHOUT the BSOD now. On the Optane post I made someone had suggested it's either the SSD or Motherboard failing and honestly the motherboard makes a lot of sense to me.
1. Motherboard failure often presents as something else.
2. The sluggishness of my system could be miscommunication between the SSD and RAM.
3. The fact that the app works then stops could be because the motherboard is dropping the connection.
4. The CMOS error is directly connected to BIOS which is also connected to the motherboard.
5. I had also noticed in the crashes, once their frequency had increased, the top of the BSOD had a visual glitch to; It was a black strip with some scattered rainbow pixels. I had merely assumed it was the OS getting messed up from the crashing.
6. Upon research it seems the increasing frequency of the crashes is also a common symptom of motherboard failure.
7. Also I don't think the motherboard gets tested with Hardware Diagnostics so it would explain why nothing is reporting a failure.
If it IS the motherboard starting to die then I need to get it to a physical repair place ASAP. The longer I wait the more likely it'll completely fail.

Hello @Amanda_W-93
I agree with your assumptions.
Check HP warranty status. You need to provide the serial number of your notebook here: Check your warranty or service status
To find serial number follow: Find product and serial numbers for HP PCs, printers, and accessories
If status (date) is wrong: --->>> HP PCs, printers - Dispute a warranty status
Do not post any serial number here in the community ! |
Kind regards
