HP 15-r029wm Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hello, I have an HP 15-r029wm laptop which has Windows 8.1 installed. I reinstalled Windows using the ISO, not the recovery manager, and now the recovery manager is gone. All of the HP apps were deleted, and I need all of those apps for what I use the laptop for. Also, I am aware Windows 8.1 is out of date, but I still need to use it in my case. I tried installing the HP apps via the HP drivers page, but upon typing in my PC model, (which I did this 4 days ago and I had no issue) the site said the the drivers were not available and to try again later. (I tried on all of my other devices, even my friend's computer and the same thing happened.) Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, the Recovery Manager software/recovery partition is only included with the original HP factory image and is not available for download.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to purchase a recovery kit for your notebook from this vendor at the link below.

Hopefully that software fully restores the original HP factory image with the Recovery Manager software and recovery partition.

Hi:

There must be something wrong with the support pages on certain model PC's because I can't get to your notebook's support page--shows no drivers available, and the 15-ac0xx support page--same problem.

The above models should not have been retired yet since they are not 10 years old.

This reputable 3rd party driver website has the drivers and software that would have been on your notebook's support page.

Hello, Paul_Tikkanen. Thanks for the help with the drivers! Is there anything that can be done about the recovery manager though? I saw some downloads for other laptops, such as sp71999, and sp67148. Neither of those worked on my laptop though. (sp67148 gave me more progress though) Is there anything that we can do about the missing recovery manager? (I also noticed the “RECOVERY D:” is missing from the laptop)
