I have this HP 17 by4000 machine that will not see the drive for installation of Win 11. There is one one drive and all that is showing is the USB stick as drive 0. All that shows is the "Windows can't be installed on disk 0 partition 1" and "The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, the operating system can only be installed on GPT disks. Setup does not support configuration of or installation to disks connected through a USB or IEEE 1394 port." Running diskpart by F10 to get into command prompt also does not show the installed disk. The machine works fine on a previous NVMe SSD that had Win 10 and I was able to get Win 11 installed by way of the update function. However, in this situation, I am starting from a newly installed blank 2 TB Samsung NVMe stick. I checked BIOS settings and nothing stands out as a problem, and there is RST firmware installed, the TPM is enabled. Please help with this problem. I have been working on this project way too long. It is not supposed to be like this. I have had no trouble installing win 10 on several machines that I have built.

You need to install the Intel storage controller drivers for your PC that I have zipped up and attached below, so Windows can find the drive.
Unzip and copy all of the files in the folder in the attachment to a USB flash drive.
Have the flash drive and your Windows installation media plugged into USB ports.
Boot from the Windows installation flash drive.
When you get to the screen where no drives can be found, click on the Load driver option, browse to the flash drive with the storage controller drivers on it.
If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.
If Windows still can't find the drive, uncheck the box to include the compatible driver and try any of the ones listed.

I put the drivers I downloaded from HP, and from Samsung, on a usb and it doesn't matter because when I click on "load drivers" not a one of them is visible in the browse to install. I also tried installing win 10, thinking it might be the Win 11 install media, but I got the same problem. I can't see the new disk, I can't see any drivers on a second usb stick. I require a list of the specific drivers and where to get them. I am not able to take downloads from strangers. I need to download and install the drivers myself. I am looking for improved directions. BIOS says I have a drive, install media says, I don't

The only other suggestion I can offer would be to use the HP cloud recovery tool that will create a bootable USB recovery drive, that will install Windows the drivers and the software that originally came with your PC.
The recovery drive should include the necessary storage controller drivers for Windows to find the drive.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility. You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive for this.

You can download the software from the Microsoft Store.

Since you have to use the software on another PC as yours is not working, you will need to enter your PC's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed.
