My notebook won’t power up. I’ve tried the BIOS recovery, tried to start up without battery and then with battery/without adapter plugged in. (light next to AC adaptor indicates battery is fully charged/ is white when I have the adaptation plugged in). The computer is under warranty. Since buying I have relocated to Japan. Japan HP says they can’t help me because it is a US bought notebook. Peroson on chat helpline at HP USA is stating I have to incur costs of shipping for their defective product and won’t give me any indication of what the likely issue is so I can try and remedy the situation here. I tried to reach tech support over the phone and over an hour later (yes, literally over an hour on hold), I gave up. I’ve experienced extraordinarily horrendous customer service on an issue that appears to be affecting a great deal of laptops (as the automated voice directory for tech support line flat out asked if I was having trouble powering up my laptop before directing my call). I would really just like to fix this issue in as most direct and quick as manner as possible. Your help is appreciated.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
