My hard drive just failed and the system is out of warranty to I thought no problem I will just buy an SSD which I did.
The problem is can't install Windows 7 from usb tried all the ports same thing every time with it coming up need to use a driver disc now I had seen few others with same issue and linked to tools to try they still didn't work.
In the end I gave up and just used a dvd but after installing the drivers provided by HP site I get cpu spikes from iastordatamgrsvc, svchost, sppsvc also the graphics drivers wont install provided on hp site every time i launch it it starts then just disapears (i extracted one myself and tried to use device manager but it comes up can't find anything)
I know I can just go and get one from intel site which i did but that causes a lot of lag of the system when installed to the point you right click it takes almost 30 sec to respond

Hi:
If you use this tool to put the required USB 3 drivers into your W7 USB installation media, that should work.

What processor does your notebook have?

I'm surprised.
Your notebook has the Skylake chipset and that utility is supposed to work on those.
Did you try the previous version Intel graphics driver from your notebook's support page?

For the other issues, you may want to see if installing the Intel chipset installation utility directly from Intel helps.

It's stupid that people have to go through this
just provide a working usb stick with Windows and all the extra drivers/software or provide a iso for people to put on flash drive so simple this is how it was in the old days now its gone so backwards with this and crippled bios as well.
i managed to source drivers from another place the standard skylakes ones dont work from intel would be because this is a skylake-u cpu with some changes plus custom board hp use.

I agree with you.
Glad you were able to get everything to work.
Since I don't work for or represent HP, I suggest you vent your frustration to the HP executive team at the link below.
