An 'expert' I am not. But what I do know is that I too uninstalled the software as proposed by many, reinstalled the 'new' software and got the error message again. So I uninstalled the 'new' and problem solved...no error message because there was no bad software. Days later the software reappeared and so did the error message. That's when I began to research the issue and came across the link I listed above, directly from HP. SO FAR SO GOOD. The software reinstalled with ease and thus far no error message on startup. The original issue seems to be from a conflict between Microsoft updates and the HP software. What you might do (what I would do knowing what I know now) would be to reverse the MS update and see what happens. As for the fan issue? Unless it's a hardware issue, you might want to verify that the HP CoolSense software is turned on.

I wound up finding a suitable resolution for both my issues:
First I found an article on how to properly update the Bios based on the type of laptop I have, specifically. Which should solve contant fan running issues and should fix the HP Accelerometer Compatibility Assistant Error message I was getting.
I followed the instructions step by step to identify my model/serial # so I can find the appropriate BIOS update for my laptop. Then I confirmed that even though I updated my BIOS through my HP App on my laptop it wasn't the most up to date version. This link identified the updated version I needed.

After updating the BIOS to the proper version & restarting my fan immediately stopped running constantly on it's own. That's one issue solved !
But after the restart I still got the HP Accelerometer Compatibility Assistant Error message again. So I found this link to give me the proper and only resolution that worked all day. I followed their instructions, and then I restarted, and it finally stopped giving the error messsage on start up.

Hope this helps everyone.
Good Luck

You can update your 3D Drivguard with latest version. But most people report the icon no longer runs in system tray after latest Creator Update. Apparently Windows did not like that icon in sys tray. As long as the service is running you should be fine. The HP3DDGSERVICE.EXE is shown running in the Task Manager. There are no error messages showing.

With the recent Windows 10 Fall Creators update the Accelerometer started throwing a compatibility error message. HP has released a SoftPaq fix for this:
