Hi @GeoCisco,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
I hear your concern about the how it must be to reinstall HP Support Assistant only to find that the diagnostics and optimization tools are missing.
Could you please share your exact HP model number?
here are few steps you can try:
1.Update HP Support Assistant
Open HP Support Assistant → Settings → Check for updates
Ensure you’re connected to the internet
Click Check for updates now
Install any pending updates, especially for HP Support Assistant itself
2.Install HP PC Hardware Diagnostics
Visit HP’s official support website https://support.hp.com/ → Drivers & Software → Diagnostics
Download HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows
Install and restart your PC
Reopen HP Support Assistant to check if diagnostics appear
3.Repair HP Support Assistant
Go to Control Panel → Programs → Programs and Features
Find HP Support Assistant in the list
Right‑click → Repair (or Modify → Repair)
Restart your computer after repair
4.Check Windows Updates
Go to Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update
Click Check for updates
Install all critical and recommended updates
Restart your PC and reopen HP Support Assistant
I hope this helps.
