I downloaded the HP Cloud Recovery Tool v2.7.11.0 2024-0729 from the Microsoft Store earlier today on two separate machines -- a non-HP Windows 10 Pro desktop and a HP Stream 14 Windows 11 laptop, and neither will recognize my HP Stream's product ID.
The HP Support Assistant shows my Stream's Product ID as 9VK97UA#ABA. Pasting this doesn't work, typing it manually doesn't work.
The Tool displays "Product ID does not match or is invalid. Please contact HP support.". When I click "What is this?" the search page displays "Item0015 please contact HP support".
Support wants $$$ because I'm out of warranty but I don't need support for the laptop -- just the media creation software!
Please advise. Thanks!

I have noticed in the last few months that HP seems to be removing cloud recovery tool support for notebooks 5 years or older.
That leaves you with the option of clean installing W10 by making bootable installation media with the Media creation tool from the link below:
Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)
After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

This thing was manufactured in 2022 - and the Product Support landing page doesn’t list any meaningful software when I visit the site on the machine itself so I’m afraid to wipe it, ever. I know this was one of Wal-Mart’s cheapest models in 2022 but I’d never expect total model abandonment from a big company like HP.

I seem to recall that model was supported by that software at one time.
Here's a post from last year that I replied to where I looked up the product number for that model notebook and it was supported then.
I always check to see if the PC was supported by the software before replying to a post informing someone to use the cloud recovery tool.

Here's a post where the tool did work at one time.

There are posts going back to 2020 on that model, so the model series was introduced to market well before 2022.

The Celeron N4020 processor was released to market late in 2019.
Intel Celeron Processor N4020 4M Cache up to 2.80 GHz Product Specifications
What's the 4th character of the serial number?
That is the year of manufacture...(0 - 9).
If it was made in 2022, that character should be a 2.
The original product specs for the model series indicate that it came with an Intel Celeron N4000 processor, and that processor was released to market two years earlier than that.

I'm thinking HP withdrew support for the model series because it was introduced to market at least 5 years ago.
