I believe this is same file you sent yesterday.  YES it worked.  Put in product id and then was instructed to insert USB stick.  Files downloaded to the USB.  The USB has 10.7 GB of data.  I have to resolve drive boot issue and then will try to use the recovery files or install new operating system. thanks for the file.  I was using WRONG HP cloud file as instructed by HP. 😥

You're very welcome.

I hope you are able to recover your PC.

The file apparently is not completing.  I downloaded ok, clicked on run and got through the license and then no program ensued.  What am I doing wrong.  I am trying to make the tool from another computer other than the faulty computer.

Unfortunately, I would not be able to help you with why the tool won't work.

I am running the tool from a Dell Optiplex 7020 business desktop PC and here are a few screenshots that show I can make a USB recovery drive for your model notebook with no problem.

I used a PNY 32 GB USB flash drive.

Ran the tool as administrator.  Entered your PC's product number and it was accepted.  See first screenshot.

Clicked Next...Selected USB flash drive. Click Next.  Warned drive would be formatted and files begin downloading.  See screenshot...

This is what the files inside the flash drive look like...

Flash drive shows 18.0 GB free of 28.8 GB.

Thank you again.   I did finally get the tool downloaded and installed on a 32 flash, did it on one of my other computers.  Only now, when I went to PC Reset with the USB in place, nothing happens.  I first tried troubleshoot...menu...use unit...nothing happens and pc returns to blue screen.....tried again  environment, nothing there....I wonder now if there is a way to go to command and get the thing workin' that way.   I am not sure how to use the command, I went to diskpart then list volume but that is as far as I have gotten.  Any ideas would be highleee appreciated.

You're very welcome.

What you should try next is to force the PC to boot from the USB recovery drive you made.

To do that, restart the PC.

Immediately press/tap the ESC key to get the menu of options.

Select the F9 boot options menu and from that, select the USB recovery drive that should be listed there and press the Enter key.

The PC should boot from the USB recovery drive and from there, follow any on-screen instructions.
