HP Recommended

Hello HP Community,
I am looking for help from HP experts or users who have deep BIOS / firmware knowledge. My case is long and complex, so I’m explaining everything clearly below.

Laptop Details
Model: HP 15g-dr0006tx
CPU: Intel Core i5-8250U
BIOS: InsydeH2O EFI BIOS

Storage:
NVMe SSD: Samsung 970 EVO Plus (M.2 NVMe)
HDD: Toshiba MQ04ABF100 (1 TB)
OS: Windows 10
Battery: Replaced with a new battery during repair

What Started the Problem
My laptop was working perfectly with NVMe SSD support.
One day, Windows Update automatically installed “HP Inc. – Firmware – 15.49.0.0”.
After this update:
NVMe SSD completely disappeared from BIOS and boot menu
BIOS no longer initialized the NVMe controller
Caps Lock blinking error codes appeared
CMOS checksum errors occurred
HP BIOS Recovery tools could not properly detect my laptop model

Repair Center Visit
I took the laptop for repair.
They:
Reflashed the BIOS
Restored NVMe SSD detection
Somehow managed to activate Windows again
However, many problems remain after the repair, and I believe the BIOS repair was not finalized correctly.

Current Problems (Still Facing)
1. Manufacturing Programming Mode Warning
On every boot, I see:
“Manufacturing Programming Mode is in Unlocking Mode”
This message never existed before the BIOS repair.
2. TPM Not Detected (Windows 11 Blocked)
tpm.msc shows:
“Compatible TPM cannot be found”
I cannot upgrade to Windows 11.
My CPU (i5-8250U) supports Intel PTT, so TPM should be available.
3. BIOS Update Refused as “Not Compatible”
HP Support website lists BIOS F.48 Rev.A for my product name.
When I try to install it, the installer says:
“This BIOS is not compatible with this device”
This makes me suspect Product ID / SKU / DMI data mismatch.
4. HP Support Detection Issues
HP Support website fails or gets stuck while detecting my laptop.
Warranty status is unclear (I bought the laptop 5–6 years ago, so warranty expiry is expected, but detection itself seems broken).

Important Observations
NVMe works now, but many firmware-level features are broken.
BIOS updates refuse to install even when they match my model.
TPM is missing.
Manufacturing Programming Mode is still unlocked.
This makes me believe:
DMI / Product ID / SKU programming was not finalized and Manufacturing Programming Mode (MPM) was not locked after BIOS repair.

My Questions to the Community
Can an unlocked Manufacturing Programming Mode (MPM) cause:
TPM not detected
BIOS incompatibility errors
Platform identity issues?
Is this something only HP internal tools can fix (DMI finalization + MPM lock)?
Has anyone faced a similar issue after an HP firmware update via Windows Update?
What exact steps should HP perform to fully finalize the BIOS repair?

What I Am NOT Looking For
Reinstalling Windows
Replacing SSD or motherboard
Generic troubleshooting steps
I am specifically looking for firmware / BIOS finalization guidance or confirmation from HP experts.

Summary
The problem started due to an HP firmware update pushed via Windows Update.
Although NVMe support was restored, the system appears to be left in an unfinished manufacturing state, causing TPM and BIOS compatibility issues.
Any help, confirmation, or escalation guidance from HP Community experts would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for reading.
