Envy-17-k153nr
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hey! I have an Envy 17-k153nr laptop. I have replaced the hard drive. I want to install the original / factory system. I haven't done a backup. Where can I find the original ISO for my model? Sorry for my English))

Hi:

Download the plain W8.1 64 bit ISO file from the link below.

Download Windows 8.1 Disc Image (ISO File) (microsoft.com)

Use the Microsoft tool that I zipped up and attached below that you will need to transfer the ISO file to a USB flash drive or DVD so that it is bootable, or you can use a different free utility such as Rufus.

After W8.1 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

 Thanks a lot !
With this installation of the system and software, will a hidden partition be created on the recovery disk through HP RECOVERY MANAGER, for example, if I want to restore the system?

You're very welcome.

No, a recovery partition will not be created using this method.

What you can do is after you get your PC all set up the way you want it, is to use the free Macrium Reflect software to create a system image backup of the entire hard drive onto a portable hard drive.

The software also has you make a bootable rescue DVD or USB flash drive that you can boot from to access the system image stored on your portable hard drive.

You can update the system image anytime you want.

Thank you again for your valuable advice!

The fact of the matter is that I would like to make a hidden partition for recovery and use this standard function so that the system is in its original form. Therefore, I ask the experts where I can get the original disc or RECOVERY ISO.

Maybe I can create such an ISO file from a similar laptop model k150nr (there is one at work) and install this system on my laptop k153nr?

HP Recommended

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, that would not be possible for you.

That model is sold in the USA, and you would have to purchase recovery media from HP.

They will only ship the recovery media to a USA  mailing address.

Your only option would be to use the method I posted to install W8.1, and to set up a way to be able to recover your installation.

Thanks!

I was hoping that forum users and owners of such a laptop model can send an iso))))

Tomorrow I will try to create an ISO on the k150nr model and set it to k153nr))). The results will tell you the result)

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

Hey! did an iso recovery on a working laptop k150nr, came home to install it on k153nr. It did not work ((((recovery iso has a build number from the k150nr model and to install the system change the build number in the k153nr laptop. This is done in the BIOS, in the Security tab, there should be an option system id, build id. But I don't have this at all ((((Tell me how can I change the build number? I found this description https://support.hp.com/ua-ru/document/c03804994  , but I do not have System ID tabs and the CTRL + A combination does not
