HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15-bq1xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Recently needed to change the battery. CMOS ended up resetting BIOS to default values. Was unable to login into the BIOS to change from UEFI mode to Legacy mode and re-enable virtualization.

Have a system disabled code now after three failed password attempts. "Older" solutions no longer work on the new BIOS F.22.

Code is in this format:

A [XXXXXXXX]

Was unable to find a link to any support services besides the virtual assistant and the address of a support center (that no longer exists).  Obviously, product is out of warranty but considering a recently released BIOS version has effectively disabled the laptop.

I can provide more information if needed.

Any recent HP laptop that came with Win10 preloaded would also have come with UEFI mode set.  If you changed that to Legacy mode, then Windows would no longer have booted.  So, did you then change it back to UEFI mode?

Also, as to support, all we are allowed to provide is general links to HP.  If the Canada link below does not work, you would have to try the other link to see if that works.

Thank you for your quick response however let me provide you with some further details as to why legacy mode was changed. Originally the SSD was from an older system which I had installed Windows 10 under legacy mode. I removed the originally hard drive from the HP laptop and switched to the SSD and needed to switch to legacy mode also.

It's not the end of the world if I can't get legacy mode re-enabled. I will just re-install windows but it is very likely that I will need to re-enable virtualization at some point. Access to the BIOS setup would be required.

I appreciate the links you provided but I have already looked through both those completely. Is there anywhere I can open up a support ticket or speak to an HP support agent?

All I have access to is to find an address to a support center once I put in the serial number.

Any help at all would be appreciated.
