Hello.
Since mid December of 2019, my computer has slowly become very unreliable. The system is acting extremely slow. I am unable to update my intel driver, I think I’m at driver update 24. I don’t remember the full update number, all I know is it’s incompatible with most of my programs which require driver update 26, my computer is so slow I am unable to check my drive update number. Anyways, most apps won’t work or open. My virus protection is expired and my computer won’t let me renew it without crashing the page. I’m losing faith in my computer. I received my HP laptop December 25th 2016. Is it time I get a new computer or is there anything I can do to maybe fix it? With Christmas passed, I am unable to get a new computer anytime soon, so I’m open to any options to fix the issues going on. I’m also desperate since my next college semester starts in a week. Hope to hear back as soon as possible to anyone who may know what to do.
thank you
EDIT: I just ran a quick diagnostic on my computer and got a Failure ID: PSP36M-8B8A09-GXGK6K-60WQ03 code for the hard drive short disk check. Does anyone know what this means? It’s past call hours, so I will be giving them a call when I wake up but if anyone can give me a quick response that would be awesome. Thank you.

It sounds like some type of hard drive failure. Drives are inexpensive and can be replaced. Plenty of videos on youtube showing how to disassemble and replace hard drives.
You can download the OS (Windows 10) directly from Microsoft and create a recovery USB thumb drive.
I would backup any important data in the mean time!
Good luck.
