Hi. I was given this HP Elitebook 840 G3, but when booting the PC, the bios requires a password, which I don't know and the person who gave it to me doesn't know it either. Is there a way someone can help me remove this password? I tried to contact HP support directly, but all I can find are links to documentation/troubleshooters.

BIOS (and Power) passwords are encoded into the firmware of the motherboard and we have no access of any kind to that. Changing such a password requires completely replacing the motherboard with a new one that does NOT have a password encoded into the firmware -- and that usually costs a LOT more than simply replacing the computer.
I wish we could help you -- but we're not allowed to, since we have no way from here to verify ownership of any computer.
