After I updated my Elitebook to Win10 Creator update, my usb stop working. the laptop is on a docking station. when i leave for the day, I shutdown my laptop and undock. when i come in the office in the morning, i dock my laptop to my docking station (HP Ultraslim). all my usb 3.0 peripherals stop working. Mouse and keyboard plug in the back of the docking station same thing happen if the usb peripherals plug into the laptop. but if i use my mousepad on my laptop to restart, and after restarting then it start to work again. it happen everytime i shutdown my computer with or w/o dock. i have updates all the drivers and bios. i have disable the usb power management and disable usb to sleep. dont know what else to try.

The issue seem to go away. i went into device manager and uncheck "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" under USB Root Hub. then i went into the power option and disable USB selective suspend setting under USB setting.

I have the same issue with all 16 of my HP Elitebook 840 G3's after they automatically updated to windows 10 pro creators update. I am trying the power setting suggestions by madIT and am testing. When I called into HP about a month ago about this issue they did not seem to know about it or know how to fix it and suggested that it would possibly "fix itself" with the June Microsoft update. It did not. Hopefully, someone at HP sees's this thread and realizes this is an annoying issue.
The only workaround currently is to open the laptop lid and use the trackpad to initiate a reboot, after a reboot the USB root HUB is able to load properly.

HP did recommend installing that, however i found the problem persisted afterwards. Below are the three drivers they had me install, but it did not fix the issue. Hopefully the power setting changes you suggested work *fingers crossed*.
Intel Serial IO Driver
Essential System Updates for Microsoft Windows 10
System Default Settings for Windows 10

Please post what you end up finding with the ticket.
The power setting I have found seemed to have made the problem happen less often. As the one user went two days without having to restart. She just came up to me this morning and had to perform the restart for USB devices to work.
Happy Monday... =(

The users machine is on that exact version 1703 build 15063.413. I just went through every USB item in device manager and turned off the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" feature on any item that had this setting. I had previously only did it to USB ROOT Hub.
